Happy Hour At Blue Martini

I want to share one of our favorite places in town with those of you who like to let your hair down at the end of the day with a great tasting martini. Well, let me tell you! Blue Martini is thus far, the #1 place in town. Not only is this place hip and fun, but it has the right vibe, views and ambience. I highly recommend this place.

Mango Mojito (extremely tasty) and Cookies and Cream Martini - Very Yummy!!!

Sliced Beef Tenderloin Appetizer - Very Generous Portions (the rice pilaf was very good)

Lobster Salad Appetizer. This was ok

Drinks: 5 stars
Food: 3 stars
Service: sometimes slow depending on where you're sitting, because they seem to lose track of patrons.
Pricing for happy hour is: EXCELLENT!!! You will not be disappointed.

It's one of those places that make me feel good on the inside when I visit Las Vegas. When and if you visit Las Vegas, make sure to check out this place. You'll definitely feel comfortable and have a lot of fun there. So give it a try and let me know your thoughts by commenting on this blog. Check them out here: www.bluemartinilounge.com

How to dress for your body type...

Do you have a hard time figuring out your style or what would go well with your shape? No worries, it's very easy. As I'm sure you've heard it said many times "Dress for your body type or silhouette". Well, what does all that mean? Simply put, just find the one part of your body that you're proud of/love and accentuate it. The following photos give us some great example of that:

Kim Kardashian - accentuates her slim waist with a nice wide belt
Paula on the other hand, is in this great purple drape dress...which covers a multitude of sins.

Once you know your body silhouette or what your best assets are, be a savvy shopper and only buy items that will accentuate it. If you're one of those who feel that you don't have a shape, the quickest way to accomplish a fashionable, polished shapely look is with a belt. For instance the first photo of Kim...to me that screams sexy hot! Now, try imagining that dress without that nice wide belt. It wouldn't have accentuated her best asset - which is her thin waistline. The belt not only sassed up the dress and accentuated her waist, it also gives it that va-va-voom effect.

The other look I like is Paula's drape dress. It is a great way to cover any jiggly bits & pieces that you might not be too pleased with. Keeping these tips in mind while shopping, you'll find that you too can look fabulous no matter what shape you are. Go out there, try it! Why don't you post a comment and let me know how that worked out for ya.

A Little Taste Of Barcelona

Pork Empanadas
If you enjoy good food, you'll definitely love Barcelona, Spain. The food there is amazingly tasty and rich in flavor just like the Barcelonians.  If you like paella, you'll be in paradise there. If you can't travel all the way to Barcelona at the moment and yearn for a little taste of the food, you might want to try "Barcelona Tapas".

Mango Martini and Pomegranate Mojito
very delicious.

Granted, this restaurant is missing the decadent black seafood paella that is indigenous of Barcelona. They also do not have the local specialty which is a champagne-based sangria, a mix that leaves you in a euphoric state. Hmmmmm hmmmmm hmmmm!!! But this place {in the desert} will hold you over until you're able to go overseas to Spain.

First Impression is Important - LBS Restaurant Experience

You never get a second chance to make a first impression. "It takes only three to five seconds to make a first impression, but it can take a whole career to undo it," says Dana May Casperson, author of Power Etiquette: What You Don't Know Can Kill Your Career. Good manners have the most impact to your clientele when they're frequenting your place of business for the first time. A blunder early in the game can blind everything else thereafter.

Unfortunately, that was the case with LBS Restaurant at the Red Rock Casino. Staff was stone-faced, snappish, unfriendly and extremely slow. We waited an hour for this!:

Turkey Sliders with Sweet Potato Fries
Granted, our table was a party of 7, but bar food should never take that long. Especially for below average food. The atmosphere is loud, uninviting, and the price is too high for the quality of food/service. I give it *1/2 stars.
