Our Home Office {Before & After}

Finally! After planning this post in August of last year, it is now ready to be released. Sheesh! In the world of blogging, you wouldn't believe the amount of time it takes to edit and select photos to post on blogs. But the result, is well worth it.

A few years ago, I had an office all my own until the hubby started working at home full-time and took it over.  Ever since then, I've slowly migrated with my laptop to our dining table and sometimes on the sofa watching (LIVE! With Kelly and Regis, then LIVE! With Kelly and now LIVE! With Kelly and Michael) while working. Every room we have used for a home office in the past never really had the space to put in two desks - but I'm thrilled to have finally come together as one in a room large enough for the two of us.  I can now sit properly in a chair in front of my own desk working without going to bed at the end of the day with excruciating shoulder pains from not sitting properly. And since this is a space we spend a disproportionate amount of time in, it had to not only be comfortable, but pretty as well without feeling too girlie. I'd like to think that I've achieved that by keeping the room in a neutral palette, from warm tan walls to the monochromatic rug with an infusion of bright colors and gold accents, which have enriched the room, making working in the space a pleasant experience. Of course, all my spaces are always a work in progress, but it's way better looking than it was a few months ago when we first moved in. And I cannot be any more ecstatic about having a much more functional place to work in now! Totally, not the way I would have it if it was our personal home - my taste in design if you were to imagine is like a combination of Mary McDonald meets Lisa Vanderpump meets Jeff Lewis. I'm an eclectic elegant decorator kind of gal, but this home office space does the job for now.
